Effects
AFXFireWall.A is a firewall that filters SYN (SYNchronize) packets.
SYN packets are a type of packets used by the protocol TCP/IP in order to synchronize the connection. In order to establish a connection to a remote computer, the source system sends an SYN packet and then, if the remote computer is available, it answers with an SYN/ACK packet. Additionally, the source computer sends an ACK packet in order to express its acknowledgement. Any of both computers can send an RST packet to end the connection.
This way, when an SYN packet is sent to an unathorized TCP port, AFXFireWall.A answers with an RST packet, automatically closing the connection.
AFXFireWall.A does not pose a risk by itself, but it can be used with malicious intentions.
